The Wedding March or Processional

3:12 PM. Thanks to three video cameras covering the whole center aisle from back to front and the allowance of only one person or pair to march at a given time, little of the wedding march was missed. We have determined beforehand how long it will take to walk the aisle during a wedding march and have matched the duration of each music used in the background for each wedding entourage group: sponsors, bridesmaids, and bearers. We now have ample time to bask at each entourage member's beauty, both in persona and style, as he or she graces the aisle in 40 seconds of slow motion glory.

Wedding March Video, Part 1: Best Man, Groom's Parents, Groom and Sponsors

The wedding march or processional preceeded with a short welcome and prayer message read by Mrs. Jojie Chong. The following was the message, as printed in the inside front cover of the misalette, or liturgy booklet.

When we reach life’s greatest crossroads, the choice of the decision we make must be done with much faith and love. My dear friends, WENDELL & IVY have approached these crossroads already with a lot of faith and a deeply nurtured friendship and love.

Let us then offer our thanks to God for having led them together in this love. Let us pray that He may bless and consecrate their commitment to each other and that WENDELL & IVY may freely and lovingly take upon them the task the Lord has entrusted to them, to live for each other and their future children, their family, their relatives and friends on their road through life to God. Let this day be memorable for all of us for the Lord have given us the blessing in witnessing this.

At the end of the message, the processional music played and Best Man Donald Sabandeja, eager and smiling--no, grinning, made for the altar in a hurried manner, like he was off to a battle, but was eventually calmed down by the photographers. The groom marched with a slightly swayed gait. Perhaps, he drank a little too much wine to help him face the music. Candle sponsors Mr. Florante and Grace Auman were late to arrive but came just in time for their turn to march. They were caught up in some business transactions before the wedding. Watch the video to see which of the wedding sponsor pairs marches most gracefully.

Wedding March Video, Part 2: Groomsmen, Bridesmaids and Bearers

This is another wedding entourage set with its own special background music: an acapella of female voices for the ladies marching with their escorts. The echoing music would have blended well with birds singing up in the church ceiling but they were quiet then.

As the ladies and gents pass by so sweetly, we wonder when will it be their turn to become grooms and brides in each of their own weddings.

On the younger lineup, it is quiet amusing to notice how Ring Bearer Master Arnold Ochia walks in time to the rhythm with his bouncing pillow. Hmm... one little lady couldn't wait for Coin Bearer Master Daniel Gabriel Seno to pass by. Could she be... one of his fans at school? Acually, she couldn't wait for Flower Girl Allison, her cousin to pass by. Bible Bearer Master Vance Sydney Molijon came out well with the large bible after all. If he was carrying a smaller one, think of the proportional effect it would have on his size.

Wedding March Video, Part 3: Flower Girls, Matron of Honor and Bride's Parents

Here are the three budding Flower Girls: Mistresses Patricia, Angela and Allison. As we watch them go by, we catch a glimpse of their emerging beauty when they become ladies, soon in just a matter of time. "Sleep," as the background lullaby goes: "angels will watch over you, and soon beautiful dreams will come true"

Here is more of Secret Garden's Prayer lyrics, edited for the processional:

Let your arms enfold us
Through the dark of night.
Will your angels hold us
Till we see the light?

Sleep, angels will watch over you
And soon beautiful dreams will come true.
Can you feel spirits embracing your soul?
So dream while secrets of darkness unfold.

Following the Flower Girls is Matron of Honor Miss Sarah Vercide, in full bloom, ready for a new life with her fiancee, Mr. James Chapman, who marched earlier in Part 1 of the wedding march video.

We find the Bride's Stepfather, Mr. Gabriel Centenerra limping due to a painful sprain in his knee joint, which unfortunately set in just a few days earlier. Yet he and the Bride's Mother, Dr. Heidi Doncillo radiate with pride and joy as they sprinkle smiles all around them.

Wedding March Video, Part 4: Flashback and Bridal March

There's a little flashback included in this video to show the bride as she was throughout the years. Unlike the other flashback video which uses archive video footage, this one is a series of scanned and digital photographs.

The flashback occupies the one-minute violin solo intro of Secret Garden's You Raise Me Up background song:

When I am down and oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up to more than I can be.

Throughout the processional, the front of the aisle was lit by two bright spotlights on both side, radiating heat to everybody who stood near it. You can see the bride's mother fanning herself in the heat as both parents wait for the bride to join them.

At the end of the bridal march, photographers, videographers, groom and bride's parents, and the bridal party were all crammed at the front. It was almost like a press event. Everyone fell into their respective places afterwards.
