About the Bride
Ms. Ivy V. Doncillo
The youngest and the only daughter of two siblings born on September 11, 1974 to Mr and Mrs. Generoso Doncillo. Born with congenital glaucoma, she lost her right eye at the age of three while the other remaining eye had acute nearsightedness. Relying only on one eye with limited vision, raising her towards becoming an independent individual had been a challenge for her parents.
As a young girl she had a talent in drawing, participating in art contests and receiving Special Awards in her Elementary years as "Artist of the Year." With this, she dreamed of one day becoming an artist.
Her motto in life, "Its not what we have, but how we use what we have, " is what keeps her going inspite of her limitations.
She graduated from St. Theresa's College with a Bachelor's degree major in Psychology and was able to work shortly for the City Government as a part-time secretary for the Environmental Protection Committee at the Cebu City Hall. She later served as one of the field researchers for the Anomie Research Project - a research project funded by the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. She eventually gained regular employment at the University of Southern Philippines as a Research Assistant in the Research Department where she and Wendell had been co-workers for almost six years.
During those years she took a keen interest in computer graphics. By her lucky stars, Wendell was there to teach her. Slowly but surely she learned everything from photo editing in graphics to html coding for the web, bringing her closer to her childhood dream of becoming an artist. She currently co-owns Pixelsplasher Print and Web Designs - a freelance business venture which she and Wendell created.
She is also a graduate in Special Education and participates in SPED related activities and voluntary work for the Cebu Braille Center and the Down Syndrome Association in Cebu. Anoung one of her dreams is to someday put up her own school for special children.
On other aspects, she had bern lucky enough having the opportunity to travel in the US and in Canada. She enjoys reading, gardening, photography and surfing the web.
